#IseNtesiwaju: Ongoing Upgrade of  Omoda Roundabout - Isale Oja Road by Governor AbdulRazaq


The Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, has intensified work on upgrading of Omoda Roundabout - Isale Oja road. 


The Omoda Roundabout - Isale Oja road is one of the several roads Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is upgrading, reconstructing and constructing throughout the state in line with his administration’s welcoming rural-urban initiative. 


As one of the commercial roads in the state, the completion of the Omoda Roundabout - Isale Oja road will enhance vehicular movement and free traffic flow and ultimately boost the local economy.


In the last five years, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has invested hugely in road construction across the state’s three senatorial districts, recognising its critical role in economic growth and development. 


Like the several completed roads and the ones being rehabilitated, upgraded and constructed currently under his rural-urban initiative, the Omoda Roundabout - Isale Oja road is drawing in commendations from Governor AbdulRazaq from well-meaning Kwarans.

'Tragedy Too Heavy to Bear’: Survivor Narrates How 37 Drowned in Traumatic Kwara Boat Accident

  On May 15, at least 37 traders   died   in a boat accident in Gbajibo River in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State. Most of the victims were travelling from a weekly market in Niger State when the accident occurred. The boat, said to have a capacity of 100 passengers, was overloaded and this eventually led to the accident. On Sunday, Salihu Mudassir, a survivor,  narrated  how he managed to stay alive when the incident happened. “I was on the boat that day. Before we boarded, it had already started raining. Some people suggested that we wait for the rain to stop, while others insisted that we should go ahead. Many were eager to return home. Eventually, we decided to board the boat despite the weather,” Mudassir recounted. “As we set off, the water started acting strangely — it became rough and unstable.
